빌딩정보모델링은 건축물의 기획, 설계, 시공, 유지단계의 전 생애주기 동안 생성되고 관계된 모든 정보를 디지털화 모델화하는 학문 분야이다. 이 분야는 건설시스템공학에 있어서 새롭게 떠오르고 있으며 건설토목현장에서 그 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 2D 및 3D CAD와 BIM의 차이점을 확인하고 왜 BIM이 건설토목분야에서
필요한지에 대해 살펴보며 BIM의 기초이론 및 관련 프로그램을 습득하고자 한다.

Building Information Modeling is the process of modeling all the relevant information which comes from all the life cycles of planning, designing, constructing, and managing the buildings and facilities. This is one of the arising areas in
the civil engineering and the needs of the BIM in the construction field are increasing nowadays. In this study, we will compare 2D/3D CAD with BIM and learn the basic theories and the relevant application programs.
